Always lock the garage door when leaving home. Too often thieves use garage doors as entry point to the home. Once inside thieves are presented with tools and ladders to breach the security of your home.

The overhead garage door should have a lock so you are not relying on the garage door opener for security. Too often garages are the weakest part of home security plans.

One of the best forms of security for your home is to install a padlock into the rails your garage door travels. This will ensure the garage door cannot be raised and is often used for those who travel.

Is the utility door to your garage as secure as any other door in the home?

Are garage windows locked and items of value kept out of plain view?
