Bosch Security Systems, Inc., a full-line manufacturer of highquality security systems and components, now offers a new line of high security indoor passive infrared (PIR) motion detectors that features sensor data fusion technology, which enables data comparison from all the detectors sensors to significantly reduce false alarms. The new Professional Series detectors are ideal for a variety of indoor commercial and retail applications such as banks, jewelers and warehouses.

The detectors feature up to five different sensors within each unit as well as a highly sophisticated microprocessor that gathers data from each sensor and, via a proprietary algorithm, determines whether an alarm is necessary or not. This virtually eliminates false alarms, while improving catch performance by 35% over traditional motion detectors.

The new Professional Series is currently available in two models. The high security ISC-PPR1-W16 PIR detector incorporates two pyroelectric sensors, a room temperature sensor, and a light level sensor. The ISC-PDL1-W18G dual PIR detector utilizes an additional microwave Doppler radar sensor.

The detectors tri-focus optics technology includes three separate lenses with specific focal lengths for long-range, medium-range and short-range coverage, eliminating the need to adjust the lenses at different mounting heights and providing wall to wall coverage with no gaps. The two pyroelectric sensors are used for long-range coverage and mid to shortrange coverage, respectively, doubling the resolution and signal strength of the detector for improved sensitivity and catch performance, while reducing false alarms.

The efficient design of the new detectors provides exceptional versatility. A userdefinable coverage pattern allows the installer to adjust the coverage area from 50 x 75 feet to 25 x 30 feet for a particular application, via a simple dipswitch. The turn of a screw easily switches the look-down lens on or off, and the range of the Doppler radar on the dual detectors is manually controlled.

The detectors include other advanced features that contribute to the reduction of false alarms. Active white light suppression eliminates false alarms caused by bright light sources, such as car headlights. To deliver consistent performance at all operating temperatures, dynamic temperature compensation automatically adjusts the detectors sensitivity relative to room temperature, to more accurately detect the unique signature of human body heat.

Installation time is reduced by up to 25% with a host of installer-friendly features, including a self-locking, two piece enclosure; a built-in level; a flexible mounting height; and three optional mounting brackets. A sealed optic chamber provides immunity to drafts and insects, eliminates accidental damage, and improves durability and reliability of the detector.

The detectors additional safety features include a cover and wall tamper switch as well as solid state relays that send silent alarm output signals and are unaffected by an external magnet, providing a higher level of security and reliability. The solid state relay uses less current than a mechanical relay, providing longer standby capacity during a power loss.

The new Professional Series detectors are available through Bosch Certified Security Dealers, who can be found on the companys Web site at www.boschsecurity.us under the Dealer Locator link.
