Safety For You While Holiday Shopping

Always park in well lit areas. If you have concerns about your safety ask a Store Associate or Mall Security to walk you to your vehicle.

Take a friend shopping with you to increase your personal security.

Always be alert to your surroundings and walk with a little attitude to show potential criminals that you wouldnt be an easy target.

Always lock your car regardless if there are valuables in it or not.

Keep your keys in your hand to activate the panic button on your remote if needed and also to use as a weapon in case you are attacked.

If someone demands your wallet or purse give it to them. The small amount of cash and valuables isnt worth risking your life over.

Report anything suspicious to the Police or Mall Security.

Home Security During The Holidays

Keep presents out of sight from windows. This security measure should be followed throughout the year. Theres no reason to tempt someone to break into your home.

It may only be a quick trip to the store, but set that home security system. Thieves can be in and out of your home within minutes. Even a quick trip down the block mandates you set your home security system.

Keep any gifts you purchase in the trunk of your car and out of plain sight. Once again never tempt a thief.

Traveling for the holidays? If so then follow these simple steps to increase the security of your home.

Have a trusted neighbor pick up your mail and newspapers each day so they dont pile up. Mail and newspapers piling up is a sure sign of a vacant house or apartment.

Let your trusted neighbor know who should and shouldnt be around your home while you are gone.

Speaking of who should or shouldnt be around your home during the holidays sometimes people do themselves in by telling others they will be out of town. Try to keep the people you tell youre home will be vacant to an absolute minimum. Not that you cant trust your friends, but they tell someone so on and so forth.

Put timers on lights so it appears the house or apartment is occupied.

Let your local Police Department know you will be traveling and if offer a service for them to check on your home arrange that with them.
