Its far too easy to run out of the house and not give your home security a second thought. Maybe its a quick trip to the store or to pick the kids up after soccer practice, but just that quickly your home can be robbed or vandalized. Remember burglars are often opportunistic and the sight of someone scurrying out of their home might just be enough for them to try to find if a door has been left unlocked.
Check Your Home Security Before Leaving Home
Make it a habit to check that all doors are locked before you leave the house. Do this by following a security routine each time you leave home. Check that doors and windows are locked in all rooms. In addition make sure any appliance that could cause a fire is unplugged such as an iron.
Use your security devices and if you have a home security system make sure you activate it no matter how long you will be away from home.
