Did you know more burglaries happen in July and August than any other months of the year. According to FBI statistics February is the least likely month for you to be robbed. Why are the summer months so popular for burglaries. Well, one of the reasons is people are out and about more in the summer and lets not forget people are a lot more likely to leave windows and doors open protected only by screens.

Given a choice most burglars would choose to walk right into your home through an unlocked door. Providing a burglar has some cover he can quickly ascertain which if any of the doors in your home are locked or which appear to be the easiest to gain entry even if they are locked. Some homeowners will actually provide a means for the opportunistic burglar to enter the home by leaving tools in the yard or through an open garage filled with all the tools a burglar would ever need to break into your home.

Once again make sure your home screams hard target from the street. A home with home security systems signs in the front yard and a dog dish or two on the stoop will leave most burglaries looking for an easier target. Its up to you to raise the home security of your home. Dont be like so many that wait for their home security to be breached before becoming aware of just what type of world we live in.
