They are simple, cheap and effective. Putting your lights on a timer is one way of keeping burglars away from your home. Even if it’s a single light in the bedroom it may be enough to make a burglar think you’re at home and often times that’s enough for him to go looking for another home or apartment to rob. You see the last thing a burglar wants is a homeowner calling the police when they hear noises. Yes, burglars know about timer lights as well, but chances are he won’t risk it being a timer and not someone at home.

These simple devices are cheap enough that for $20.00 you can purchase three or four of them to place around your home. Another nice benefit to them is you won’t have to come home to a completely dark apartment or house. Simple security steps such as this can make the difference between your house being a target and one a burglar passes by.
